Spring and Chaos is quite simply an exquisite piece of art. As with all art, not everyone will appreciate it, but those who do will very likely consider it one of the most beautiful and meaningful Animes that they have ever seen.” – Anime News Network

A highly allegorical anime that tells the life story of famed Japanese poet Kenji Miyazawa, who wrote Night on the Galactic Railroad and Gauche the Cellist (both of which were adapted as anime), among other stories and poems.

An unusually self-reflexive anime that utilizes different styles of animation and editing to reflect the abstract, metaphorical nature of Miyazawa’s own writing style. A must-watch for fans of the poet, an essential companion piece to Night on the Galactic Railroad and an important work of anime in its own right.
