A great church parade in the Town Hall marked by frantic excitement on the part of the staff endeavouring to get the troops seated in time. The Regiment marched with the division to Lower Hutt for inspection by the G.O.C. A vile day of wind and dust and the most uncomfortable time one could have. We were glad to get back to our cabins out of the wind and stones. No one fell out on the march which was done in [...]

Our 2nd day at Karori. Very hard work in getting over the hills. Regiment in attack.
An interesting Field day at Miramar against the Otago Battalion. The 7th acted as advanced guard. Got early into the action and being unsupported by the rest of the Battalion was nearly scuppered. However they fought well and defeated the enemy of attaining his main object.
Regiment proceeded by special train to Trentham. Musketry continued.

Route march to Karori and our first experience of Karori Hills. They are very steep – Company in attack work was carried out.
