The Road to Chunuk Bair

At 3 am. the Battalion assaulted the Turkish position on Chunuk Bair. The Coy occupied 100 yds frontage on left.

The Position was assaulted and captured at 4.30 am. and was held all day against a succession of strong counter attacks. The Coy which was occupying the fire-trenches suffered severe casualties and very few men remained at the end of the day.

The following casualties occurred among the officers

Killed                 Lt Wells E.L.

                           Lt Davidson T.A.

Wounded            Major Cunningham W.H.

                           Lieut Turnbull F.K.
