The Battalion was relieved by Otago Battalion at 2 am.

The Coy which returned under Lieut McKinnon comprised 3 NCOs & 15 men.

At 3 am. the Battalion assaulted the Turkish position on Chunuk Bair. The Coy occupied 100 yds frontage on left.

The Position was assaulted and captured at 4.30 am. and was held all day against a succession of strong counter attacks. The Coy which was occupying the fire-trenches suffered severe casualties and very few men remained at the end of the day.

The Coy spent the day in Happy Valley.

Sent to Sick Hospital  Cpl French.

                                 Pte Symes.

At 10 p.m. the Coy left Happy Valley to take part in the General Night attack.

The Coy acted as Battalion Reserve.

Battalion occupied ridge at the head of Chalik Dere.

Thursday 5th August 1915

The Coy occupied the Terraces on Quinn’s Post as Reserve to Australian Light Horse. At 9.45 pm. the Coy left Quinns and joined up with the Battalion and moved to Happy Valley.

At 9 am. the Coy was relieved by the 17th Ruahine Coy and occupied terraces in Reserve.

At 9 am. the Coy takes over sub-posts 4.5.6 at Quinns Post from the 17th Ruahine Coy.

The 24 hours passed quietly.

At 9 am. the Coy was relieved by the 17th Ruahine Coy and moved to Local Reserve Gully for 24 hours.
