Routine. Whole company ran in a cross-country race. Other companies yet to compete. Enemy heavily shelled battery in our vicinity.
I took over command of W.W.C. company this evening during temporary absence of Capt. MCKINNON. M.C. Capt. EVATT. 2nd in command, has been detached on a Labour Battalion job.

Lieut Scoon posted to the Company. Church service for men not on fatigue. The battn raiding party went out from T88 but owing to insufficient artillery preparation & support & owing to the trench mortars not having cut the wire sufficiently the raiders suffered severely, W.W.C. having 50% of the casualties.
