The Diary recommences as the Battalion prepares to leave Egypt. There are two diaries covering the same dates, one of them written by Lieutenant Hugh McKinnon. Most of the entries are nearly identical.

Mr Brinsley and one half Coy paraded at Anzac Cove for washing.
Company started with Battn for Apex at 8 a.m. and proceeded to reserve trenches. Lt Brinsley & baggage guard return to company.
Company embarked with Battn on S.S. Osmanieh for Anzac. Strength of Company on embarkation 4 officers & 93 men. Lt. Brinsley and 45 other ranks detached for baggage guard. Coy arrived at Walkers Ridge Pier with rest of Battn at 9.30 p.m. Coy arrived at Watercourse Gully at 11 p.m. & bivouaced for the night
