Church parade and general leave. A day in Wellington when most of us expected to be at sea and most unwell. However that no doubt is still to come. The other transports still remain in the stream.

Advance Guard despatched to Wellington. Company parades.  Everyone hard at work packing up. Definite orders for intraining[sic] received. We start for Wellington tomorrow.

The weather still keeps magnificently fine and the Regiment at 9.15 a.m. marched out for inspection and then proceeded through Palmerston North along Rangitikei Line for a route march. Regiment marched to the Rifle Range. Company parades. Regiment returned at 4 p.m. During the day a guard was dispatched to Wgtn for the purpose of protecting the Troopships now in the harbour and ready for the troops.
